Activites
Life at Two Cedars is as full as each resident wishes it to be. Our Activities Co-ordinator arranges a varied programme of group activities, entertainment and outings throughout the year, alongside one to one time for those who prefer their own company. Forthcoming events are displayed on the residents’ notice board in the hall.

Group
Our Activities Co-ordinator arranges a number of regular group activities in which residents can choose to participate. These include flower arranging, gentle exercise classes, quizzes, indoor skittles, word searches, crosswords, puzzles, arts and crafts. Scrabble is a popular game for which we use a 6ft x 6ft board. Another popular pastime is Reminiscence when one resident will give a little talk about times gone by that everyone can enjoy and contribute towards.
Two Cedars also provides entertainment with guest speakers on local history, excerpts from shows by the Wimborne Musical Theatre Society, musical performances by Canford School musicians and the Salvation Army, talks from the Towns Women’s Guild and other musicians giving piano, flute, guitar, organ or violin performances.
Individual
Residents may not always choose to participate in group activities and at times prefer to spend some time in their own room. Our staff are more than happy to provide one to one book or poetry reading, play a game of cards or simply just chat.
A staff member will also accompany any resident who wishes to visit the local church, shops or library or needs to attend an appointment.

Outings
Outings are offered and regular events include:
– Local Grammar Schools Christmas party
– First School Nativity Play
– Broadstone Junior Theatre Group Pantomime
– The Dolphin boat for the disabled trip to Wareham quay for fish and chips
– Coach trips to garden centres and coastal resorts
Themed
Two Cedars takes the opportunity of celebrating a number of events throughout the year and we have a full calendar to look forward to. On each occasion we appropriately decorate our lounge and dining areas and provide a menu reflecting the particular celebration.
